The launch held on Friday 24th June in South Shields, formed part of a DSMIG one day symposium and was attended by approximately 80 delegates from all around the UK and Ireland and even as far as France, Norway, Nigeria and Singapore.
DSMIG is a registered charity and network of healthcare professionals who hold symposia twice a year around the UK and Ireland to disseminate specialist information about medical aspects and management of Down Syndrome. They always aim to use local experts and invite local health professionals to their regional meetings.
Guests at the meeting included representatives from the RCPCH and Down Syndrome Associations of UK, Scotland and Ireland as well as Her Excellency Mrs Toyin Saraki and Dr Alero Roberts representing the Wellbeing Foundation of Nigeria.
